Corsets, and garters, and bralettes, oh my! I'm going to give you lots of options to choose from!
Bra & Panty set
There are so many options when it comes to a simple bra & panty set. However, when you're weighing your options, proper fit is extremely important. Girls with smaller assets usually go straight for a pushup. This can lead to a very unnatural look. Obviously, there are great pushups out there but just ensure that it fits correctly and that you aren't spilling out of it. You also want to make sure that the panties set smooth on the skin. NO DIGGING. Women's clothing is such a PAIN because no one is on the same page in the sizing department....so sometimes this may mean going up a size to get that smooth look. Also, lace edges tend to sit smoother on the skin.
Corsets & Bustiers
Corsets are meant to pull that waist in, and give you those, body like a back road, curves. They can be difficult to put on but if you are set on a corset I can help at your session. A bustier is very much like a corset, except it has cups to support the girls.
Garter belts, garters, and thigh highs
Garter belts and thigh highs add that extra bit of *spicy* to your outfit. Some lingerie comes with garters attached already, so there's no need for a belt. However, if it does come with the garters attached, thigh highs are a must to complete the outfit. They are fairly inexpensive and can be found at Walmart, JC Penney, etc. Also, fishnets can really put it over the top!
Teddies & bodysuits
I'm sure you're familiar with a bodysuit. A teddy is just a sheer, sexier version of that. Either one is great for accentuating curves and making you feel sexy!
clothing
Clothing may sound boring and counterproductive to the session, but some just aren't into lingerie or maybe this is your first shoot and you aren't ready to show quite so much. Ripped jeans and a sexy bra or bralette. Sexy leather jacket and a lace thong. Cozy off the shoulder sweater and some thigh highs. There are so many clothing options that can be just as sexy if not sexier than lingerie. You don't have to go out and buy a whole new outfit, get creative!
Now that you've been given the options, let's help you figure out what YOUR best option is.
The right lingerie
As I mentioned in the bra & panty section, you want to make sure that whatever you pick is a good fit. Literally lol. You could be a literal supermodel, but if your clothes don't fit right, they aren't going to feel right and you won't feel good.
Need a lift?
So you had a baby recently, or lost some weight and you feel like the girls need a little lift. Women are so tempted to immediately go for a pushup. Instead look for a demi cup or an underwire bra that offers support, without too much padding. It will be more proportionate and more flattering.
legs legs legs
Everybody wants long gorgeous legs. But some of us (*cough cough* me) were not blessed with barbie legs, but instead got american girl doll legs lol there are posing tips that help with this but I have some tips that you can use when preparing for your session, to make your legs look longer and leaner. Look for high cut undies, bodysuits, etc. Th higher opening will make them look longer. Also, nude heels help to elongate the legs.
Arms for days
Arms are really a sensitive area for some. This is another one that can be helped with different poses, but you can also look for a long sleeved body suit or a button down over some lingerie is always a sexy look. If your hubby is a blue collar man, a work shirt, or a flannel is good. A crisp button down, if he's a business man. No man? Who needs one, just grab a button up in your favorite color! or cozy cardigan!
Rock bottom
If a sexy booty shot is on your list, it's all about the bottoms. I recommend panties that show a lot but not too much. Cheeky bottoms are really good for this. Lots of teddies and body suits come in thong or cheeky styles. Whatever you do, beware of the stringy thongs. They don't always flatter. So if you bought a piece of lingerie that came with one of those cheap little t-backs, do yourself a favor and run to Walmart, or JC Penney, or whatever department store you love, and grab yourself a $5 lace thong or cheeky pair of undies that match the outfit and throw that stringy thing away lol
Coverage correctly
Boudoir is about shedding layers, but everyone's comfortability level is different. My number 1 goal is to make you feel beautiful, but I also want to make sure you are comfortable. So here are some tips to cover when it comes to boudoir:
- If your worried about your stomach, think shapewear (the gorgeous kind, not the kind that's meant to be hidden). Bodysuits and corsets show off all the right curves, while covering your tummy. A beautiful lace robe over a bra & panty set is easy to move and position where it's most flattering.
- Need a lift but still don't want to show too much? Bustiers are a good option. Amazing support while still giving you more coverage.
- The worst thing you can do is hide behind a bunch of fabric. For example a babydoll may seem super pretty and whimsical but it could make you look heavier and hide your gorgeous curves.
Hopefully this has helped you get some ideas and better prepare for your session. Next time post is going to be all about the things you should bring that you may not think of so stay tuned!!
