Everyone wants to look their best for a photo session, but a boudoir session will need different preparation. Here's some things that you want to keep in mind when prepping!
A week + out from your session.
-Find inspiration photos for poses, hair, and makeup. You can find these in magazines, google, pinterest, social media, etc.
-Get an alibi! If these photos are meant to be a gift, you're going to need a reason to be gone.
-Waxing. A boudoir session is an intimate shoot. So, you want to make sure you're groomed and ready. If you prefer shaving that works fine, but if you plan on waxing, you'll want to do it at lease two days before your session to avoid redness.
-Practice hair and makeup looks. I mentioned this in a previous blog post. The last thing you want to do is try something new the day of and be unhappy with your look.
Day/Night before.
-HYDRATE!! For two reasons. 1.) Believe it or not, hydration plays a key factor in how healthy and glowing your skin can look. 2.) You're going to be in some awkward positions for your session so, your body is going to need the water.
-Rest as much as you can. If you've never done boudoir before, let me tell you, you're gonna use muscles you don't usually use. There's a good chance you're gonna be sore the next day. Lol
-Hair/skin treatments. Not like a full on facial but like, a simple face and/or hair mask to give you that glow.
-Exfoliate, shave, and moisturize. If you don't plan on waxing, shaving is fine. Get yourself a simple sugar scrub and some lotion and pamper your skin!
